biofresh - maintaining fresh produce quality

Biofresh has recently completed a project to improve the quality of plantains exported from Latin America.
Biofresh smartpallets have been used in the transport of plantains from Latin America to New York and have shown outstanding results. The smartpallets produce and circulate ozone which has proven effective at scrubbing the ethylene within the container and so slowing the ripening of the fruit. The arriving plantains also showed significantly reduced mould traces.
As the fruit arrives in a fresher and greener state, the shelf life is dramatically extended and losses – which are currently as high as 30% for plantain exporters - are greatly reduced by the ozone.
